Roughly one year ago a devastating event known as the Cataclysm ravaged the distant region Faero, leaving hundreds dead and many more missing. In the aftermath of the chaos, half-human, half-Pokémon creatures rose from the shadows and attacked what little remained of civilization.

Now the technological marvel Millennium City stands proudly once more, and humans have returned to Faero, hidden safely behind the thick walls that shelter the city from the savage lands outside. The feral Pokémorphs still lurk out there, biding their time.

Will you venture out of the city and into uncharted territories to make a name for yourself as a Pokémorph trainer?

 Testing Ambience [Aaron]

The only sound that reached human ears was the sound of footsteps. Renée actually made a bothering attempt to lift her feet from the soft ground, successfully speeding up her strides. One would think they would hear two pairs of footsteps, especially this deep in the forest. But it was only Renée; chasing after a runaway Ikara. Sure, this had happened plenty of times. But never had Ikara gone so far away from her, and in a forest. They had known each other no longer than a few months at the most, but she knew well enough that Ikara wasn't exactly fond of forests.

'And I'll be damned if she doesn't know scratch.' Renée growled inwardly, nursing the small cut on her hand the zigzagoon made before running off.

This was stupid. And she knew it. A girl no taller than exactly five foot three was trudging deeper and deeper into the forest for a level five pokémorph. But no matter how stupid the situation at hand was, she had to look for Ikara. It wasn't something she would admit aloud, but she had definitely become fond of the humanoid zigzagoon. She shook her head with a sigh, absentmindedly following the little silver balls of light leading her...erm...somewhere. Perhaps this idea had been a little more stupid than she originally thought.

"Ikara, where are you?" In her usual deadpan tone, was an obvious hint of unease as the forest became more and more silent as she walked.

"I-Izega..." Aaron's voice sounded somewhat nervous, green eyes staring out to make sense of the blurry world of odd colours that had at one point been the Silverlight Forest. "Izega, stop that and give me back my glasses."

The Pokémorph seemed to have no intentions of doing anything of that kind, dancing around and flailing her arms happily through the air with a triumphant smirk on her face, a furry fist clenched tightly around the frame of her trainer's glasses. So perhaps hurting him resulted in a nasty pain in her body, but stealing his stuff and taunting him about it worked just as well. She didn't know why exactly the useless looking, clearly inedible glasses were so important to her trainer, lacking the understanding that it corrected his poor eyesight, but ever since first grabbing them she had quickly caught on to the fact that stealing them from him made him act odd, stumbling over rocks and even at one point walking into a tree. Fun times to be had for all.

"I-Izega!" The Mankey suddenly dropped the glasses, losing interest in them as something else entirely caught her attention. Monkey-like ears twitched a few times as they caught the sounds of another human nearby, and a quick snort escaped her nose. With a swift movement she ran up to Aaron, knocking the confused man over on his back and snatching something away from his pockets, before dashing off into the direction of the sound, leaving her trainer crawling over the ground to find his glasses. Finding new Pokémorphs surely hadn't gone as well as he might have hoped.

Following the sound Izega soon found the lost-looking girl following silver bugs around looking awfully lost, and a playful smirk formed across the Pokémorphs face, fists tightening around the spherical object she had stolen. Waiting for just the right moment, she suddenly launched an 'attack', throwing the morphball and hitting Renée in the back of the head rather roughly. The morphball opened in an attempt to capture its intended target, delivering a nasty shock to Renée and possibly her Pokémorph, though doing little more. It wasn't exactly lethal by any means, but it was far from pleasant. A good thing she had no Pokémon DNA, or a nasty shock wouldn't have been the worst part of her day.

With the wide smirk still plastered across her face, the Mankey continued the victory dance she had started earlier, sticking out her tongue at the human. Just what had she been trying to do, anyway? Had she just attempted to catch a human?

Ikara by then had been strolling simply in an opposite direction of the fireflies, when a sharp pain erupted in the back of her head. She looked at the empty spot behind her grumpily, seeing nothing. Not even ten seconds after the pain in her head came, a shock jolted her from her standing position. That made her snarl. When recovering a moment later, the zigzagoon jumped up quickly and sniffed the air, searching for any signs of perfume, cosmetics, anything girly and smelly Renée usually had on. Hand lotion. Or whatever that sticky stuff that her trainer put on. Not lingering any longer on the subject, she darted in the direction of the scent.

With a black nose to the ground, and her furry legs and arms helping her crawl to the scent, the zigzagoon approached her trainer at a slow and steady rate. That is, until she caught sight of a blond human crawling around the floor in a fashion that was much like her own. Ikara stared at the human in curiosity, before snorting in amusement. Humans were strange creatures, they were. She continued watching the human for a moment when something caught her attention; shiny. Ikara sniffed at it, noticing it was the same scent that came from the human a few feet from her. She picked up the glasses and studied them for a moment, sitting indian style. Finally, she held out the glasses for him to take. Ikara made an annoyed sniffing sound when he hadn't, though. So she resolved it by nearly shoving the glasses in his face, growling at him to take the glasses.

Renée, however, wasn't so used to the pain and stayed in her crouching position on the forest floor. The trainer wasn't so sure what was worse; the oncoming headache from the morphball, or the shock from it. Not even bothering to think much, she decided on the latter. But slowly, ever so slowly, she stood up with narrowed eyes and a hand clutching the back of her head.

Expecting to see some smug newbie trainer who had been pulling a prank, or just some kid who hadn't known what they were doing, she turned with a somewhat calm expression on her face. However, when she caught when she caught sight of a very smug and dancing mankey pokémorph, she nearly lost her marbles. Renée simply bit her tongue and breathed in slowly, attempting to keep calm and stop herself from shouting something that would upset the pokémorph that was a good two feet taller than her, and evidently much stronger than she. But when she noticed a tongue sticking out in a mocking fashion, she felt her resolve slipping at a rapid rate.

"Are you finished, or are you going to continue mocking me?" She snapped, an embarrassed blush spreading across her cheeks.

The entire world was still completely blurry, but now shades of brown had suddenly swooped in and grabbed something shiny from the ground. Surely that must have been his glasses, but he couldn't exactly figure out what was going on. Brown flashes, light tan flashes... some sort of Pokémorph must have grabbed them?

Unsurprisingly he froze, worried that sudden movements would anger the creature, so when the Zigzagoon held out his glasses to him, he didn't move. It wasn't until she trusted his glasses back on his face, albeit upside down and somewhat lob-sided, that he could tell that the Pokémorph was a Zigzagoon. Ever so slowly he readjusted his glasses so they rested comfortably against his face again, though other than that, he tried not to move a muscle.

Pokémorphs were unpredictable after all, he had no way of knowing what the Zigzagoon was trying to do. For all he knew the Pokémorph was waiting for him to move, before deciding he was edible. His attention was drawn away from the tall, lanky creature though when a familiar screeching started nearby.

How dare that pathetic creature look at her and make those stupid human noises? The mankey's breathing grew heavier and faster, claws unsheathing and ready for use as she started flailing her arms around, clearly flying into a frenzy judging by her frantic screeching.

"G...go away. S...shoo. L...look, my Pokémorph is really angry, she'll hurt you if you don't go away..." Ah, Aaron always sounded so confident and convincing.

Ikara stared at Aaron with a deadpan expression, of course only grasping a vague understanding of 'go away', since Renée always said it. But unlike said trainer, this one didn't sound as...intimidating, if you could put it that way (really. Creatures of that size could not possible hurt her). Nonetheless, her curiosity for the man had faded when she too heard the screeching. But what really caught her attention, was the sound of light footsteps backing away from whatever that racket was. Her ears twitched and she glanced at Aaron, to the noise, back to Aaron, before turning away from him and sprinting off to the scene.

And what she found, didn't surprise her.

Renée and her sharp tongue got in trouble. And the whole pride thing obviously hadn't been working out so well either. Of course now, Renée was having an "Oh my god, holy shit, I'm going to die" moment. Or a "shouldn't have opened the closet, but she did" moment. She hesitantly took a step backward, unsure if it would just anger the mankey more, or...who was she kidding. There was seriously no stopping a Pokémorph, let alone a very offended mankey. But it wouldn't hurt to try? "Calm down," She said tentatively, putting her already bandaged hands (courtesy of Ikara, naturally) up to show she wouldn't do anything to harm the mankey. "I didn't mean to offend you."

As Renée raised her bandaged hands up to show them, the primate Pokémorph did the exact same thing, holding up her hands for a few moments, though with an entirely different intend. Seconds later she clenched them into tight fists, ready to batter Renée's body until she stopped twitching. Her attempt at showing she wasn't interested in fighting seems to have been interpreted as a challenge for a boxing fight. Drawing closer pounding her fist into her other hand, she looked ready to tear the human to shreds, stopping only when she heard her own trainer.

"S...stop, leave her alone." The words were whispered, rather soft and hardly sounding like it was a command, but remarkably enough the Pokémorph seemed to pay attention to it. For a few more moments the Mankey glared at the human who had offended her, before seemingly losing interest in her. Crossing her arms, she let out a huff to show that Renée wasn't worthy of her attention anyway, before turning away, sitting down and staring at a nearby tree.

"S...sorry about that, she's a bit of a hothead. Is that Zigzagoon yours?" He cautiously mentioned towards the tall creature, not entirely certain if she was going to respond in the same way to humans as Izega did most of the time. "She's... pretty well behaved, she found my glasses... I think." Odds were pretty high that she had only given them back because they weren't edible, but still. At least she hadn't trashed them.
