Roughly one year ago a devastating event known as the Cataclysm ravaged the distant region Faero, leaving hundreds dead and many more missing. In the aftermath of the chaos, half-human, half-Pokémon creatures rose from the shadows and attacked what little remained of civilization.

Now the technological marvel Millennium City stands proudly once more, and humans have returned to Faero, hidden safely behind the thick walls that shelter the city from the savage lands outside. The feral Pokémorphs still lurk out there, biding their time.

Will you venture out of the city and into uncharted territories to make a name for yourself as a Pokémorph trainer?

 Scorching Steppes
« Thread Started on Oct 29, 2009, 2:54pm »

Located at the north-eastern edge of Faero, the Scorching Steppes are a dry desert region. What was once a fertile grassland has been turned into a desolate wasteland by the constant volcanic activity in the northern parts of the Scorching Steppes. Rolling hills of sand and flat miles of hard, cracked, dehydrated earth are interrupted only by the occasional cactus, tumbleweed, or rock formation.

Rumor has it that oases exist here, but only those lucky enough to stumble across them, or those that have explored the Steppes before (unlikely), will be able to enjoy the strangely lush and beautiful areas, and that's assuming that there aren't already Pokémorphs there seeking refuge from the harsh desert.

Closer to the Volcanic Region, small lakes of lava heat the air to unbearable levels, and the constant stream of ash spewed out by the volcano itself makes breathing nearly impossible without some kind of a mask to filter out the soot.

Points of Interest

Oases
These little watering holes are rare in the hot, hot desert, but for whatever reason, they do exist scattered about. Around the pools of water, strange and exotic flora grows lush and green. Trees may provide shade, and the huge leaves of some plants can be use to hold water, or ground down for medicine. As incredible as these oases are, desert-dwelling Pokémorphs are highly protective of them, and any human lucky enough to find one probably will get chased away.

Volcanic Region
Near the northern end of the Scorching Steppes stands a mighty volcano, surrounded by rivers of lava and red-hot, stony ground. Few have dared to come close, and even those that attempted it have often met their doom, but one particularly bold and clever scout managed to get a closer look, and claimed to have seen the legendary bird Moltres hovering above the volcano, forcing it to spew fire and ash.
